Land O’Lakes Purina Feed LLC is recalling a single lot of Country Acres® Home Grown Turkey & Quail Starter 30% BMD 200 feed due to a lower than formulated protein level. During the investigation of a customer complaint, it was discovered that there was a manufacturing error in one lot which resulted in feed being manufactured with a lower protein level. Low protein levels can adversely affect bird growth and development and, in extreme cases, increase the potential for bird mortality.

Fisher/Rex Sandwiches of Raleigh, NC is recalling some of their sandwiches because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Philips announced today that it is voluntarily recalling approximately 5,400 HeartStart FR2+ automated external defibrillators (AEDs). This recall is being conducted due to the possibility of a memory chip failure that may render the device inoperable. Only certain HeartStart FR2+ AEDs (models M3860A and M3861A, distributed by Philips; and models M3840A and M3841A, distributed by Laerdal Medical) manufactured between May, 2007 and January, 2008 are included in the voluntary recall.
